Terms & Conditions

1. Eligibility

a. The Promega Benelux Genomics Research Grant (the "Genomics Research Grant") is available to individuals who are at least 18 years old and are a researcher or scientist that is either (i) currently enrolled as a PhD student or graduate student in a life science program at an academic or clinical public institution, or (ii) currently employed as a researcher, postdoctoral scientist, or principal investigator (PI) / group leader at an academic or clinical public institution that performs life science research, within Belgium, the Netherlands, or Luxembourg. Private sector employees are not eligible. Eligible individuals are not required to buy Promega products or pay any fees to participate. Employees of Promega and members of the immediate families of such employees are not eligible.

b. The Genomics Research Grant is open to residents of Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg only. Void where prohibited by law.

2. Entry and Prizes

a. To apply, complete the registration form on this page before August 31st, 2026. Following registration, you will receive an email with the abstract submission form. Both steps must be completed before the deadline. Winners will be notified no later than November 30th, 2026.

b. The following information will be requested during the application process:

Step 1 — Registration: First name, last name, email address, telephone, job/role, institution, department/lab name, and country.

Step 2 — Abstract Submission: A brief abstract (under 500 words) describing your research and how it fits within the molecular genomics workflow, from nucleic acid extraction to (q)PCR analysis. Include information about the types of tools or solutions you would need to support your project, and how they fit into your research.

c. Please consider that your organisation's internal policy may not allow you to receive incentives, or your employer's permission may be required before participating. Limit one entry per person.

d. Three (3) winners will be selected by a committee of judges from Promega Benelux (the "Promega Selection Committee") based on information submitted in the application. Winners may be contacted to confirm application information.

e. Each winner will be notified by email no later than November 30th, 2026. In the event a winner cannot receive their prize for any reason, the prize shall be awarded to an alternate winner as determined by the Promega Selection Committee.

f. Grant recipients will receive:

i. A product credit to purchase Promega genomics family group products at local list price, to the value of €7,500 (1st prize), €5,000 (2nd prize), or €2,500 (3rd prize) respectively, subject to the requirements in paragraph “g.”

ii. Access to a Promega Benelux mentor for support, guidance, and troubleshooting related to the research performed under the grant.

g. The Genomics Research Grant must be redeemed in the form of Promega genomics family group products and cannot be redeemed for its monetary value. Products shall be ordered within 12 months of grant award notification, and no later than November 30th, 2027. Any portion of the grant credit not used within this period will be forfeited. Please allow 1 to 6 weeks for approval and delivery.

h. By accepting a Genomics Research Grant, you agree to the following:

i. Provide biographical information and a profile picture so Promega Benelux can feature you as a winner on its LinkedIn channel.

ii. Share information about your research with Promega Benelux for feature on the Promega Benelux LinkedIn channel, within the boundaries of what you are able to disclose and subject to your full ownership and rights over that information.

iii. Acknowledge Promega in any scientific publication(s) related to the research performed and supported by the grant.

3. General

a. In case of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting an entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the person in whose name the email account is registered. The winner may be required to provide evidence that they are the authorised account holder of the email address associated with the winning entry.

b. Personal data collected during the application process, including registration and abstract submission, is processed by Promega Benelux solely for the purpose of administering the Genomics Research Grant. Promega Benelux does not claim ownership over any research information submitted by applicants. Applicants retain full ownership of their research data and intellectual property at all times. Applicants have the right to request deletion of their personal data at any time by contacting privacyteam@promega.com. Promega Benelux is not obligated to disclose the number of entries received or the identity of non-winning applicants.

c. No prize transfer or cash redemption will be permitted. No prize substitution will be permitted, except at the sole discretion of Promega Benelux, in which case a prize of comparable or greater value may be awarded.

d. Taxes on prizes are the sole responsibility of the winner, in accordance with applicable Belgian, Dutch, or Luxembourg tax regulations.

e. Promega Benelux reserves the right to substitute any prize of equal or greater value, or to cancel, suspend, and/or modify the contest at its sole discretion.

f. By participating, entrants agree to abide by and be bound by the rules and decisions of Promega Benelux, which shall be final in all respects relating to this Genomics Research Grant. Participants agree to release, discharge and hold harmless Promega, its subsidiaries, affiliates, and their officers, directors, agents, representatives, and employees from any and all claims, charges, injuries, liability, losses and/or damages of any kind resulting from or arising out of participation in the Genomics Research Grant and/or the acceptance, use, misuse or possession of any prize received. Previous winners are ineligible.
